British Airways and Chase are DYING to Give You 100,000 Avios Points

Ok friends and readers. Get on this one quickly before the offer gets yanked. Currently British Airways is giving you the chance to earn 100,000 Avios points (Which can be redeemed on BA, Cathay, AA, LAN, Etc…). Sure the BA program hasn’t been quite as good since the restructuring destroyed the value of many partner awards (i’m looking at you N.America to Asia and S.America to N.America), but it’s still 100,000 points for basically doing nothing. Here’s what you need to do…

– Go to

– Search for a one way flight from JFK-LHR on any date. Make sure it is searching by fully flexible, not cheapest.

– Select a flight, should be ~$1,400.

– Enter your personal information as if you truly want to make a booking and click proceed to payment.

At this point, if you’ve done everything right, you should get an offer to sign up for a BA Chase card. Take this offer. Fill out your application and once it has been submitted, cancel out of the fake booking you were working through and go on your merry way. Should Chase approve you, the rewards are great. 50,000 Avios points after your first purchase (this could be a pack of gum), and then an additional 50,000 Avios on your 1-year anniversary. You could open this card, buy a coke, shred the card (as long as you kept the account open) and walk away with 100,000 Avios. A JFK-LHR roundtrip is business can be had for 80,000. Of course, there is an annual fee, but it’s only $75, and once you have the second batch of 50,000 miles you can 86 this card and go looking for a better deal. Trust me…100,000 miles for $75 and a can of coke is a very, very good deal. Should you choose to keep the card, you get 1.25 Avios / $1 spend and a higher multiplier on BA purchases. Good luck.

OK, I took the bait and went through these steps for this offer. My application is pending and I will be notified within 30 days. I have not had a BA card before but have a couple of Chase Bank cards right now. Forgive me, but are Avios points the same as miles? I don’t know anything about British Airways and am not familiar with their point/miles system. Do these point transfer 1:1 to American Airlines, or do you simply use them to purchase a ticket on American (or another OneWorld Alliance partner)?
    Thank you,

Susan, Avios are what British Airways call miles in their frequent flier program. While you can’t transfer them to an AA account, you can redeem BA Avios for flights on AA and all the other OneWorld partner airline.

Thank you! I found your blog through flyertalk, btw. I’m rather new to the whole credit card signup bonus game, but it sure seems like an incredible way to get miles/hotel points!
